Denise Welch, a well-known television personality and member of the Loose Women panel, has recently criticized a London council for not collecting her son’s rubbish. She also claimed that a bin collector insulted her son when he raised a complaint.
In a post on social media, which was later deleted, Denise addressed Brent Council directly. She wrote: “Hi @brent_council. You haven’t emptied my son’s bins in 3 weeks. Any attempts at due process has failed. He tried to talk to a collector who called him a c***!! Can you let me know how we move forward!!!!”
Denise has two sons from her previous marriage to Tim Healy, an actor known for his roles in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and Benidorm. The first son, Matty Healy, is the lead singer of the band The 1975 and owns a property in Hackney but resides in Hollywood. The second son, Louis Healy, is an actor. It remains unclear which of the two sons she was referring to in her post.
Brent Council responded to Denise’s message with an apology, stating: “Hi Denise, we are very sorry to hear about your son’s experience. If you could DM us the address, we will look into this as a matter of urgency.”

Just three hours after she made the post, Denise decided to delete it once Brent Council had prioritized her complaint. She then wrote: “So @brent_council has responded thank you. And I appreciate all of your comments which have made me laugh.” However, her followers were not satisfied with the lack of clarity and demanded to know which son was involved in the incident.
One follower commented: “Now that’s confirmed could you confirm which son please as it’s causing major upset in your comments not knowing,” while another asked: “Which son was it Denise?” Some fans joked, “I won’t sleep until I see Matty’s empty wheelie bin Denise x” and “Anytime beloved – hope the bins get sorted x.”
The Daily Mail has reached out to Brent Council for further information.
Denise has previously admitted to being a helicopter parent, someone who is overly involved in every aspect of their children’s lives. Helicopter parents are often seen as excessively protective and controlling, hovering over their children and trying to manage their affairs. Despite the label, Denise has expressed that she enjoys being involved in her sons’ lives with what she calls “military precision,” offering advice and solutions to problems they may not even have.
In a column for The i Paper, Denise shared her perspective on being a helicopter parent. She described herself as constantly alert, inserting herself into any situation she can, often without being invited. She explained, “The radar is on full alert at all times and I insert myself into any aspect of their lives I can squeeze into. Totally uninvited, I swoop in with military precision to offer advice and solutions to problems they don’t have.”
Her sons have jokingly referred to her as a “Poundland Kris Jenner,” a playful way of highlighting her tendency to be overly involved. Denise has embraced this nickname, acknowledging that her involvement in their lives is both a source of humor and a reflection of her deep care for her children.
